There is no medical cannabis program in Wyoming, rather there is protection for patients who suffer from an intractable seizure disorder to use limited amounts of CBD and THC with a Hemp Extract Registration Card. Otherwise, the Cowboy State has failed to move forward with an official program, especially where the Americans for Safe Access (ASA) is concerned.
The Washington D.C.-based organization, which reports annually on the status of each U.S. state’s medical cannabis program, did however credit the region for approving HB171 in 2019, which grants approval for the 2018 Farm Bill, thus allowing a national hemp production program in the state.
Registering for protections under HB 32 requires that a patient (or a minor patient’s parent or legal guardian) complete an application and the patient’s neurologist complete two additional forms: a written certification and a patient evaluation record. A patient must also submit proof of residency and an application fee. After processing by the Department of Health, the patient will be issued a Hemp Extract Registration card.
